Rovensky undergoes dialysis four times daily at home, a demanding regimen impacting her quality of life. A GoFundMe campaign has been established to support her medical expenses and daily living costs, as she is unable to work.
Give Life Alberta notes that organ transplant demand consistently exceeds supply, with over 500 Albertans awaiting life-saving transplants. The organization highlights that living donors can significantly shorten wait times. Rovensky's public appeal aims to inspire potential donors to get tested, offering a chance at a life-saving transplant not only for herself but for others on the waiting list.
