A new US study reveals that so-called 'forever chemicals' are present in 98.8% of human blood samples tested. Researchers from NMS Labs analyzed over 10,500 samples and found complex mixtures of PFAS, with most individuals carrying five or more types.

PFAS are used in non-stick pans, textiles, and adhesives. One chemical, PFHxS, was detected in 97.9% of samples and is linked to liver and immune system issues. While many countries have restricted its use, the damage may already be done.

Over 70 unique PFAS combinations were found. The study underscores the challenge of regulating these persistent chemicals, which are still widely used and hard to remove from the environment.
