FDA officials prevented agency scientists from submitting two studies on Shingrix, a shingles vaccine, to a major drug safety conference. The studies reportedly bolstered existing efficacy and safety data.

An HHS spokesperson defended the actions, stating that the COVID studies were withdrawn due to unsupported conclusions and that the shingles study fell outside the agency's purview.
