The Manitoba government is investing $95 million in a new personal care home in Winnipeg’s Bridgwater neighbourhood. The project, first proposed in 2014, faced multiple delays due to political changes and other setbacks. Health Minister Uzoma Asagwara announced the renewed commitment, with public consultations set to begin in June 2026. Patric Dacquay, executive director of WMSCI, expressed enthusiasm about the project, which aims to address the needs of 294 people currently waiting for personal care home spots.
