SINGAPORE: Hotspots in eastern Johor have sent smoke plumes across the border, affecting Singapore's air quality.

As of 7pm on March 30, the 24-hour Pollutant Standard Index (PSI) ranged from 56 to 71, indicating moderate air quality. The PSI is calculated using six key pollutants: PM2.5, PM10, ozone, sulphur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide, and carbon monoxide.

Northeasterly winds have carried smoke into Singapore, potentially increasing short-term PM2.5 levels. The National Environment Agency (NEA) advises residents to monitor hourly PM2.5 data for outdoor planning.

Clinics in Singapore report a rise in haze-related health issues over recent months, including respiratory problems and skin irritation.
