New Brunswick is extending a tuition bursary program designed to attract more paramedics and medical technicians. Initially launched in 2025, the initiative helps cover tuition costs for graduates who commit to working for Ambulance New Brunswick.
Under the program, students receive half their tuition paid upon graduation and employment, with the remaining half reimbursed after completing a service contract. Primary and advanced care paramedics must commit to a two-year contract, while emergency medical technicians sign a one-year deal.
The bursary, previously limited to students who began or finished by March 31, will now include those starting programs after that date. Premier Susan Holt stated the extension will increase the number of trained medical personnel available for Ambulance New Brunswick.
