Workplace fatalities in Singapore dropped to 36 in 2025 from 43 the previous year, according to the Ministry of Manpower's annual report.
The fatality rate fell to a record low of 0.96 per 100,000 workers, excluding 2020 when construction halted during the pandemic.
Vehicular incidents, falls from height, and structural collapses accounted for 28 of the 36 deaths. The construction sector recorded 13 fatalities, down from 20 in 2024.
The transportation and storage sector saw seven deaths, while manufacturing rose slightly to four. Platform worker fatalities were two, with 74 major injuries reported under new mandatory reporting rules.
Minister of State Dinesh Vasu Dash announced plans to adopt AI and video analytics across public construction projects following a successful pilot at 14 sites.
Major injuries totaled 586 in 2025, with construction and manufacturing sectors leading. Minor injuries, excluding platform workers, rose 2.6% to 22,090.
A new Platform Worker Safety Workgroup will strengthen protections through incentives, enforcement, and road safety awareness.
