Tennis stars Carlos Alcaraz and Aryna Sabalenka were crowned Sportsman and Sportswoman of the Year at the Laureus Awards in Madrid. The accolades follow their dominant 2025 seasons, which saw them finish atop the men's and women's tennis rankings.

Alcaraz, 22, reclaimed the world number one ranking after winning two Grand Slam titles at the French Open and U.S. Open. Sabalenka, 27, also achieved Grand Slam success at the U.S. Open and reached finals in Australia and France, showcasing consistent performance.

Elsewhere, Rory McIlroy received the World Comeback of the Year Award for his Masters victory. Formula One driver Lando Norris was named World Breakthrough of the Year, and Paris Saint-Germain was honored as World Team of the Year after a successful 2025 season.
