Naomi Osaka delivered a stunning upset at Wimbledon, defeating top seed Aryna Sabalenka 6-2, 7-6(2) to reach the quarter-finals for the first time.

The 14th-seeded Osaka dominated the first set and remained composed in a tight second, snapping Sabalenka's 21-match Grand Slam tiebreak winning streak. The victory marks Osaka's biggest win since returning to the tour in 2024 after the birth of her daughter.

With defending champion Iga Swiatek and second seed Elena Rybakina also eliminated earlier, all top three seeds are now out of the women's draw.

"I'm really grateful for this," Osaka said. "It's been a long time since I've had so much fun on the court."

Sabalenka, clearly frustrated after the loss, said, "Now I want to go and get drunk and forget about tennis."

Osaka will next face Czech 10th seed Karolina Muchova in the quarter-finals.
