Legendary sportscaster Bob Costas endorsed the International Olympic Committee’s (IOC) decision to ban transgender athletes from women's sports. He argued that allowing such participation would undermine fair competition. Costas noted that high school champions do not compete with college athletes, stating, “If the last guy on the NBA bench went to the WNBA and started averaging 40 points, everyone would know that is BS.”

The IOC’s policy, which determines eligibility through SRY gene screening, ensures that female athletes compete against others who share similar physical attributes. This move aims to protect the integrity of women's sports ahead of the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
