Organizers for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics announced a significant early success, selling more than 4 million tickets in their first release.
This initial sales phase, which opened registration for a second ticket draw on Tickets.LA28.org, indicates robust demand for the Summer Games, set to begin over two years from now. Sales for the next phase are scheduled to commence in August 2026.
LA28 reported that 95 percent of tickets priced under $100 were sold during a presale for residents of Los Angeles and Oklahoma City. Approximately 500,000 tickets at $28 were also purchased by local buyers.
Tickets were sold in 85 countries and all 50 U.S. states, with the United Kingdom, Canada, Mexico, and Japan showing strong international interest. Women's Olympic sessions sold at a higher rate than men's, and artistic gymnastics emerged as the fastest-selling sport.
New additions to the Olympic program, including flag football, lacrosse, softball, and squash, sold out during this initial release. Fans can register for the next draw through July 22.
