Becky Lynch achieved a unique milestone at WrestleMania 42, becoming the first WWE women's superstar to hold the Women's Intercontinental Championship three times. She defeated AJ Lee for the title on Saturday night in Las Vegas.

This victory marks Lynch's third reign with the championship, having previously won it against Lyra Valkyria in June 2025 and against Maxxine Dupri in November. Her reign was interrupted by Lee at the Elimination Chamber, leading to a significant feud.

During the match, Lynch strategically used a damaged rope buckle to gain an advantage over Lee before executing a Manhandle Slam for the pinfall.

This marks Lynch's second consecutive year leaving Las Vegas as a champion, following her tag team title win at WrestleMania 41. With this win, Lynch now holds seven women's championships in total, including three Intercontinental titles and two tag team championships.

For AJ Lee, this was her first appearance at WrestleMania in 11 years, and her championship reign ended shortly after beginning.
