INDIAN WELLS, California - Carlos Alcaraz’s 16-match winning streak came to an end Saturday when Daniil Medvedev defeated the world number one, 6-3, 7-6(3), in the Indian Wells semi-finals.

The Russian, ranked world number 11, showcased relentless aggression and precision, leaving Alcaraz stunned by his level of play. "I’ve never seen Daniil playing like this," Alcaraz said after the loss.

Despite the setback, Alcaraz remained focused on long-term goals, emphasizing that competitors must now elevate their game to challenge him. He acknowledged the win as motivation for future opponents.

Medvedev will face Jannik Sinner in Sunday’s final.
