Corinne Stoddard has made history at the Milan Cortina Olympics, claiming a bronze medal in the women's 1,500-meter short track speed skating event. This marks the first Olympic medal for an American woman in short track in 16 years.

The 24-year-old skater overcame significant adversity, including multiple falls on her first day of competition. Despite early setbacks, Stoddard regained her form, leading for much of the final before being overtaken by South Korean competitors.

Stoddard credited her team and coaches for their support, enabling her to overcome a difficult Olympic experience and prove her capability under pressure. This bronze medal is her first Olympic hardware and ends a seven-year medal drought for the U.S. in short track.
