Christian Pulisic, the U.S. men's national team forward, is likely to return from a lower back injury in time for AC Milan's penultimate Serie A match this weekend.
Pulisic missed Milan's 3-2 home loss to Atalanta on Sunday. He trained with the squad Wednesday and is expected to be available for selection against Genoa on Sunday.
Pulisic hasn't scored in 17 league matches since December 28, and has also gone scoreless in eight USMNT games. Milan sits fourth in Serie A, level on points with Roma and just two above Como, as they fight for a Champions League berth.
The USMNT has friendlies against Senegal and Germany before opening its World Cup campaign against Paraguay on June 12 in Inglewood, California.
