Canadian freestyle skier Cassie Sharpe will miss the women's halfpipe final at the Milano Cortina Games after a crash during qualifying.

The 33-year-old Sharpe, a gold medalist in 2018 and silver medalist in 2022, was taken off the slope on a stretcher after falling on her second run. She had initially qualified in third place.

Team Canada confirmed Sharpe returned to the athlete village after a precautionary hospital stay but has not been medically cleared to compete in the finals.
