Novak Djokovic has named Viktor Troicki as his head coach ahead of next week's French Open. The Serb is seeking a record 25th Grand Slam title.

The former world number one made the announcement on Instagram, calling Troicki his “friend, teammate, and now coach.” Troicki, Serbia’s Davis Cup captain, previously worked with Djokovic during his gold medal run at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

They also helped Serbia win its first Davis Cup title together in 2010.

Djokovic turns 39 on Friday. His season has been hampered by a shoulder injury and limited preparation on clay. He is coming off a loss in the Australian Open final in January.

The French Open begins Sunday.
