Novak Djokovic, at 38, sees no reason to retire from professional tennis. The Serbian star, who reached the Australian Open final in January, stated he remains motivated and capable of competing at the highest level.
Djokovic highlighted his recent five-set victory over Jannik Sinner and a strong performance against Carlos Alcaraz as proof of his continued ability. "I have proven to myself primarily and to others that I can still compete at the highest level and beat these guys," he told reporters.
He added, "My logic is why not keep going as long as I have that fire and flair and quality and the motivation to do that." Djokovic, a 24-time Grand Slam champion, strategically selects his tournament schedule, focusing on Grand Slams and key tune-up events like the Indian Wells tournament, where he is a five-time winner.
"I really enjoy the thrill of competition," Djokovic stated. "I enjoy still getting out there in front of the fans and being competitive. Still number three in the world, so I don't think it's too bad in terms of the ranking and results and performances."
