Russell Wilson’s NFL career is at a crossroads. The 37-year-old quarterback remains a free agent after a disappointing 2025 season with the New York Giants, but former NFL star Aqib Talib has a clear message for him: retire.
"Do your TV thing, Russ. It’s over with, man," Talib said on the podcast The Arena: Gridiron. "Once you’ve got to decide, do I even want to play? I think you don’t really want to play."
Talib criticized Wilson’s recent pattern of switching teams without success, adding, "There was no chip in New York. That’s just going to be another stop on your resume."
Wilson, a Super Bowl champion with the Seattle Seahawks and four-time Pro Bowler, has 46,966 passing yards and 353 touchdowns over 205 career games. But his three-year stint with the Broncos and a forgettable 2025 in New York have tarnished his legacy.
Despite interest from the New York Jets and a reported offer to join CBS’s The NFL Today, Wilson has not decided on his future. If he returns for a 14th season, he would be 38 years old and searching for his fourth team in four years.
