The Atlanta Falcons have dismissed assistant coach LaTroy Lewis after less than a month on the job, following the emergence of sexual assault allegations. The claims stem from a December 2024 incident during Lewis' tenure with the Michigan football coaching staff.
In a statement, the Falcons confirmed awareness of the allegations and are gathering information. The Ann Arbor Police Department has launched an active investigation into a reported sexual assault involving Lewis on December 5, 2024.
Attorneys for both Lewis and the accuser have released statements. The woman claims Lewis became aggressive via text and phone before the alleged assault at an Ann Arbor hotel. She reportedly shared details of the incident with former Michigan coach Sherrone Moore, though Moore's attorney denies any failure to report misconduct or harassment.
Lewis previously coached at Michigan for two seasons, having served as a graduate assistant before his promotion. He also had playing stints with the Raiders, Texans, and Titans.
