Devonta Lee, a former LSU receiver and member of the 2019 national championship team, has died at the age of 26. His passing was confirmed by his former teams, LSU and Louisiana Tech University. The circumstances surrounding his death were not immediately disclosed.

Lee was previously diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a bone cancer, after the 2022 season. Following multiple surgeries and treatment, he had been declared cancer-free. His mother stated he was a dedicated player who never gave up.

Lee played in 37 college games over five seasons, recording nine receptions for 112 yards and one touchdown at LSU. He also played two seasons with Louisiana Tech.
