Paris St Germain manager Luis Enrique dismissed favorite status ahead of Wednesday's Champions League quarter-final first leg against Liverpool.

The English champions sit fifth in the Premier League after suffering 15 defeats across all competitions this season - their worst campaign since 2014-15.

PSG leads Ligue 1 and defends their Champions League title.

"Everyone is trying to work out who the favourites are, but in this sort of match that means nothing," Luis Enrique told reporters Tuesday.

The tie repeats last season's round-of-16 meeting when PSG eliminated Liverpool on penalties. This time features Liverpool striker Hugo Ekitike facing his former club.

The 23-year-old France international scored 17 goals with six assists in 43 appearances during his first season in England.

Ekitike spent a brief spell at PSG between 2023 and 2024 but found limited playing time in a squad featuring Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.
