ROME, March 15 - AC Milan suffered a pivotal 1-0 defeat at Lazio, dashing near-term Scudetto hopes. Gustav Isaksen scored in the 26th minute after chasing a long ball and firing from a tight angle.
Milan had hoped to close the gap after Inter drew 1-1 with Atalanta-but failed to assert control. Their first away league loss this season leaves them on 60 points, eight behind leaders Inter (68), with nine matches remaining.
Rafael Leao reacted angrily after being substituted; manager Massimiliano Allegri acknowledged frustration over lack of service. A Zachary Athekame volley was ruled out for handball in the 75th minute.
