IndyCar driver Scott McLaughlin walked away from a terrifying crash ahead of the Grand Prix of Alabama. McLaughlin lost control attempting a hard left turn at an estimated 150 mph before crashing into the wall rear-first.
The New Zealand native brought his hands to his head inside his car as he began losing control, but emerged under his own power. The crash prompted an emergency response at Barber Motorsports Park.
McLaughlin holds seven career victories, including wins in Alabama in both 2023 and 2024. His best Indianapolis 500 finish came in sixth place two years ago after earning pole position. He finished third in the series standings in both 2023 and 2024.
