New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart is set to enter his first full season as starter under a new coaching staff. New offensive coordinator Matt Nagy, formerly of the Kansas City Chiefs, has offered Dart crucial advice.
Nagy, who worked with Patrick Mahomes during the Chiefs' Super Bowl run, emphasized to reporters that Dart must be his own player. "He's Jaxson Dart. He's not Patrick Mahomes," Nagy stated. He added that while lessons can be learned from Mahomes' routines, Dart's individuality is paramount.
Nagy stressed the coaching staff's role is to support and guide Dart, allowing him to express his preferences. "We're going to be really intentional on how we do that." He also highlighted the value of coaches who have worked with multiple elite quarterbacks.
Dart showed promise in his 2025 rookie season, passing for 2,272 yards and 15 touchdowns, with 487 rushing yards and nine rushing touchdowns. He finished fourth in Offensive Rookie of the Year voting.
