Jamie Murray, a former doubles world number one, has announced his retirement from professional tennis. The 40-year-old concludes a career spanning 36 years, highlighted by seven Grand Slam titles and a Davis Cup victory alongside his brother, Andy.

Murray achieved the world number one doubles ranking in 2016. His career boasts 34 titles, including doubles crowns at the Australian Open and U.S. Open in 2016, and five mixed doubles titles at Wimbledon and the U.S. Open. His final title came at the Belgrade Open in November 2024.

A pivotal moment was partnering with Andy in the 2015 Davis Cup final, contributing to Britain's first title in that competition since 1936.

"My tennis journey comes to an end after 36 years. I feel very fortunate and privileged for all the amazing experiences this great sport has given me," Murray stated. He also expressed gratitude to his supporters and anticipation for his next chapter.
