Jacob Winterton, a former Ontario Hockey League (OHL) player and older brother of Seattle Kraken center Ryan Winterton, has died at age 25 following a battle with cancer. The OHL expressed condolences to the Winterton family.
Winterton played two seasons in the OHL with the Flint Firebirds and Oshawa Generals, scoring 18 goals and registering 37 points in 125 games before attending the University of Guelph. The Oshawa Generals and Firebirds released statements honoring his memory.
