Liverpool has appointed Andoni Iraola as their new manager, replacing Arne Slot, who was sacked last Saturday after a disastrous Premier League title defense.

The 43-year-old Spaniard has reportedly signed a two-year deal. Iraola, who led Bournemouth to a sixth-place finish, is expected to deliver a more aggressive style reminiscent of Jurgen Klopp's tenure.

Slot's two-year reign began with a league title but ended in a 5th place finish, 25 points behind champions Arsenal. The death of forward Diogo Jota in a car crash deeply impacted the squad, and a £450 million spending spree failed to yield results.
