Mirra Andreeva said her first Grand Slam title felt better than any visualization, and she is already craving more after defeating Maja Chwalinska 6-3, 6-2 at Roland Garros.
The 19-year-old becomes the youngest French Open champion in over three decades and the first teenager since Iga Swiatek in 2020 to lift the Suzanne Lenglen Cup.
Andreeva, who speaks French and grew up on clay, called Paris the "perfect first Grand Slam." She added that the victory is addictive and she is now focused on preparing for Wimbledon, which begins June 29.
The Russian credited her coach, Conchita Martinez, saying it is "very special to share a first Grand Slam trophy with her."
