LONDON - Karolina Muchova is heading to the Wimbledon final after a stunning victory over American Coco Gauff. Muchova saved a match point to win a dramatic third-set tiebreak 12-10. The final score was 6-2, 1-6, 7-6.
Her opponent will be countrywoman Linda Noskova. The ninth seed defeated Marta Kostyuk 6-4, 6-4 in the other semifinal. This sets the first all-Czech women's final in Grand Slam history.
Muchova's win was highlighted by incredible athleticism, including a diving volley on a crucial point. She battled through physical issues and a blistering hot Centre Court. Gauff, who saved multiple match points earlier in the tournament, had a match point of her own but missed a drop shot.
"It was a big fight, a rollercoaster," said Muchova after the match. The victory ensures a Czech woman will win Wimbledon for the third time in four years.
