Lewis Hamilton says he can still win the Monaco Grand Prix for Ferrari despite missing out on the front row.

The Briton qualified third, behind Red Bull's Max Verstappen and championship leader Kimi Antonelli. Ferrari's Charles Leclerc was fourth.

Monaco's narrow street circuit makes overtaking very difficult. But Hamilton, starting third, won the 2016 race from the same position.

"I hope we can get a really good start and maybe apply some pressure. But nothing's impossible," said the seven-time world champion.

Hamilton's move to Ferrari has been underwhelming so far. He finished second in Canada last time out and has out-qualified Leclerc two races in a row.

"I felt capable. I am in a really good place with the car, and I am in a good place with the team," Hamilton said.

A win would be Ferrari's first since Carlos Sainz in Mexico last season.
