SILVERSTONE, England - Mercedes junior Kimi Antonelli stormed past Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton to claim his maiden sprint victory at the British Grand Prix, becoming the youngest ever sprint winner at 19 and extending his championship lead to 43 points.
Hamilton started from pole but was powerless to defend against Antonelli’s overtake on Hangar Straight using the supplementary power mode. The Italian crossed the line 2.7 seconds clear of the seven-time world champion.
McLaren's world champion Lando Norris finished third after a rapid launch from sixth place, holding off a surging George Russell in the closing stages. Russell now trails his teammate Antonelli by 43 points in the standings.
Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc took fifth, with Red Bull’s Max Verstappen dropping to sixth after qualifying third. McLaren’s Oscar Piastri finished seventh, and Racing Bulls’ Liam Lawson secured the final point in eighth.
