PGA Tour CEO Brian Rolapp has spoken directly on reports concerning the future of LIV Golf. Amidst speculation that the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) may cease funding for LIV, Rolapp emphasized the PGA Tour's focus on its own improvements.
Speaking on 'The Pat McAfee Show,' Rolapp acknowledged that the PGA Tour is considering pathways for players who previously left to join the Saudi-backed league. "We're thinking about it," Rolapp stated, "We'll react when we have an opportunity to react, but right now we're focused on making the PGA Tour better."
Rolapp referenced Brooks Koepka's return to the PGA Tour earlier this year as an example of a potential player reentry process. Koepka rejoined the Tour under specific terms, including a charitable contribution and forfeiture of potential equity.
Other players, like Patrick Reed, have also sought to return to the PGA Tour. Rolapp indicated openness to welcoming back high-profile players if it aligns with strengthening the PGA Tour.
