Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Daniel Robert suffered a cardiac event Sunday morning at BayCare Ballpark in Clearwater, Florida, shortly after completing a bullpen session.

The 31-year-old was on the mound when he collapsed. Manager Rob Thomson witnessed the incident and described it as "very scary." Robert briefly tried to rise before collapsing again.

Robert had a similar cardiac episode in October, leading doctors to implant a cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) near his chest. The device activated as he left the field on Sunday.

He was hospitalized but released hours later. His return timeline remains uncertain.

Robert joined the Phillies in April 2025 from the Texas Rangers, where he made four appearances in 2024. He has recorded 15 strikeouts in 13 innings with Philadelphia.
