Paris police deployed thousands of officers to control crowds after Paris Saint-Germain won the Champions League final for the second consecutive year. Tear gas was used and more than 130 arrests were made.
Around 40,000 fans gathered at the Parc des Princes stadium. Some supporters set off fireworks and lit flares. The Champs-Élysées was cordoned off but filled with mostly peaceful fans, estimated at 20,000.
Police reported six vehicles and two storefronts were damaged. The heavy police presence comes after last year's celebration led to two deaths and nearly 200 injuries.
