Jon Rahm accused the DP World Tour of "extorting players" as he explained his refusal to join eight LIV Golf competitors in a recent settlement.
The settlement would have allowed players to compete on both tours but required Rahm to pay significant fines, withdraw appeals, and commit to a minimum of six DP World Tour events, with the tour dictating two of those locations.
Rahm called the conditions unacceptable, stating he would only agree to a minimum of four events, a compromise tour officials rejected. He believes the tour is leveraging players' participation for financial gain while imposing unfair terms.
Rahm is no longer a PGA Tour member and has turned down a return to that circuit.
