ESPN's recent acquisition of NFL Network and other league digital assets had raised fan concerns regarding the future of the popular "NFL RedZone" program. However, host Scott Hanson has provided reassurance, stating that ESPN intends to make "no big material changes" to the show.
Hanson told Fox News Digital that both Disney and ESPN are enthusiastic about "NFL RedZone," recognizing its established appeal and dedicated audience over 17 seasons. He emphasized that any upcoming adjustments will focus on enhancing viewer value, driven by a shared passion for football among the production team and the new owners.
Hanson expressed his commitment to delivering an informative and entertaining viewing experience, drawing a parallel to the Golden Rule. He indicated that viewers should not expect drastic alterations when "NFL RedZone" returns for its 18th season this fall.
While ESPN will distribute the channel, the NFL will retain ownership, operation, and production responsibilities. The deal also grants ESPN rights to the RedZone brand, potentially opening doors for similar formats across other sports.
