World number one Jannik Sinner dominated Alexander Zverev 6-1, 6-2 in just 57 minutes to win the Madrid Open final on Sunday, becoming the first man to claim five consecutive Masters 1000 titles.

The 24-year-old Italian now owns the season's opening four Masters events-Indian Wells, Miami, Monte Carlo, and Madrid-extending his winning streak across hardcourts and clay.

It was Sinner's ninth straight win over Zverev, who quipped during the trophy ceremony: "Please consider taking a break so you can leave something for us mortals."

Sinner opened with an ace and never looked back, breaking Zverev twice in the first set to take it 6-1 in 25 minutes. He carried that momentum into the second set, breaking again in the third game and closing out the match with ease.

The German hasn't beaten Sinner since the 2023 U.S. Open and has managed only two sets in their last nine meetings.
