Strongman Mike Aidala has achieved a new Guinness World Record, successfully completing a single Turkish Get-Up with a barbell weighing 261 pounds.
Aidala, a former college football player and current performance coach, has previously held a world record for the most weight lifted in one hour via Turkish Get-ups. His latest feat demonstrates his unwavering commitment to pushing physical boundaries.
The Turkish Get-Up is a centuries-old full-body exercise renowned for demanding coordination, mobility, and strength. It involves lying flat with a weight, then rising to a standing position with the load held overhead.
Aidala's journey to this record was marked by persistence. After an initial setback, he returned to training and, despite numerous attempts, ultimately surpassed his previous best, lifting 261 pounds. Beyond the personal achievement, Aidala also raised over $3,000 for Valor Fit, a charity providing gym memberships to veterans.
