Speculation is mounting that tennis legend Serena Williams may be preparing for a comeback at next month's Queen's Club Championships in London, potentially partnering with Canadian teenager Victoria Mboko in doubles.

Williams, 44, hasn't competed since the 2022 U.S. Open and has not confirmed any return plans. However, multiple British media reports claim she has requested a wildcard for the doubles draw at Queen's, which begins June 8.

Mboko, 19, spoke at the French Open about her ongoing communication with Williams, calling her an idol. But she deferred to Williams on any official announcement.

"If she's ready to come back on her own terms, it's up to her to announce that," Mboko said. Williams rejoined the anti-doping testing pool last year, a prerequisite for re-entering tournaments.

Neither Williams nor Queen's organizers have commented on the reports.
