World number one Aryna Sabalenka has withdrawn from the Stuttgart Open, scheduled to begin April 13. The decision comes due to an injury sustained following her triumph at the Miami Open in March.

Sabalenka, 27, expressed her disappointment on Instagram, stating, "Unfortunately, I suffered an injury after Miami, and even though I tried everything to recover in time, I'm not ready to compete." She added, "I always love coming back to Stuttgart. The atmosphere, the fans, and the support I feel there are so special to me. And of course, I was really hoping to have another chance."

Sabalenka's withdrawal forces a delay to the start of her clay season. She recently secured the 'Sunshine Double' by defeating Coco Gauff in the Miami Open final.
