Chicago White Sox rookie outfielder Tristan Peters has been named to the American League All-Star team. The call-up came roughly 12 hours after Peters achieved a rare hitting milestone: hitting for the cycle.
Peters completed the cycle with a triple in his final at-bat, marking the first cycle for the White Sox in nine years. His performance against the Oakland Athletics included a double, a single, a two-run home run, and the crucial RBI triple.
The 25-year-old's journey to this moment is unconventional. Peters spent time with the Savannah Bananas after college and was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in 2019. He was traded three times before landing with the White Sox this past offseason.
Peters has been a key factor in Chicago's surprising season. The team, which lost 324 games from 2023 to 2025, is now tied for first place in the American League Central. Peters is currently hitting .303 with an .841 OPS this season.
