Max Verstappen gave his blessing for his Red Bull race engineer, Gianpiero Lambiase, to leave for McLaren. The four-time world champion said the offer was too good to refuse, especially considering Lambiase's family and future security.

Lambiase will join McLaren as their chief racing officer when his Red Bull contract expires at the end of 2027. Verstappen, speaking at an event in Amsterdam, said he told Lambiase, 'You would be stupid not to do that.'

This move is part of a broader exodus of senior staff from Red Bull. The team also announced internal technical leadership changes, with Ben Waterhouse expanding his role and Andrea Landi joining from Racing Bulls.
