World No. 3 Iga Swiatek has split with coach Wim Fissette after a shock second-round defeat to fellow Pole Magda Linette at the Miami Open.

The 24-year-old cited disappointment in her performance and announced the decision via social media, ending their 17-month collaboration that began in October 2024.

Their partnership yielded major success, including Swiatek’s first Wimbledon title in 2025, plus wins in Cincinnati and Seoul as she adapted her game to faster surfaces under Fissette’s guidance.

“I feel disappointment, bitterness and responsibility for my performance on the court,” Swiatek wrote. “I’m grateful for his support, experience, and everything we achieved together-including one of my biggest dreams in sport.”

Fissette, a veteran coach who previously guided Kim Clijsters and Naomi Osaka to Grand Slam titles, acknowledged on Instagram that both had “wanted and worked for more.”
