IndyCar star Will Power was involved in a serious crash during qualifying on Saturday ahead of the Children's of Alabama Indy Grand Prix in Birmingham. While driving into a corner at Barber Motorsports Park, his wheels locked up, causing him to lose control and crash head-on into the barrier. He was among the top 10 qualifiers before the incident.

Power attributed the crash to a brake failure, stating that the front brakes were working but the rear brakes failed. Despite the crash, he believes the car is still competitive and will start 23rd on Sunday when the green flag drops.

Meanwhile, Scott McLaughlin also experienced a significant crash during practice, spinning out and hitting the fence at high speed. He managed to bounce back slightly during qualifying and will start 14th. Alex Palou secured pole position, with David Malukas, Graham Rahal, Marcus Armstrong, and Kyle Kirkwood completing the top five.

The race begins at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday and will be broadcast on FOX and FOX One.
