Data protection provider Commvault today announced new artificial intelligence capabilities designed to enable organizations to accelerate AI adoption with confidence while maintaining control over data, agents, and recovery.
The new features allow enterprises to activate AI safely, discover and govern AI agents, and build and control agentic workflows within Commvault Cloud.
Many organizations struggle to balance AI innovation with the risks of exposing sensitive data and losing control over AI agents. Commvault highlights that 60% of AI leaders cite risk and compliance concerns as top barriers to adoption.
The new offerings - Data Activate, AI Protect, and AI Studio - aim to address these challenges. Data Activate allows organizations to classify and curate data from protected backup copies, preparing approved datasets for AI platforms. AI Protect helps identify risk, understand the impact of agent-driven changes, and recover affected applications. AI Studio enables the creation and use of custom agents for specific needs.
Combined, these capabilities aim to advance an AI resiliency lifecycle, bringing discovery, governance, protection, and recovery to AI agents across various cloud environments. Commvault CEO Sanjay Mirchandani stated, "Commvault Cloud is the system of record for AI resilience."
