After 22 years at Apple Inc., engineering architect Mark Sin has left the company. Sin was a key figure in the hardware design and systems integration of numerous Apple products, including the Apple Watch and Mac Pro.

Sin's career at Apple began with an internship offer after he impressed the team with a webpage about their campus visit. He went on to play a significant role in major hardware transitions, including the shift to Intel and Apple silicon chips. He also contributed to the iconic cylindrical design of the 2013 Mac Pro.

Beyond his technical contributions, Sin was dedicated to community building, co-founding the Singapore Students Association at Carnegie Mellon and later leading SingaporeConnect. He also contributed to Singapore's economic strategy and fostered connections between the diaspora and the country.

Sin's departure, while not impulsive, was prompted by a desire to spend more time with his family and explore new avenues, potentially in public policy with a tech or engineering focus. He is set to moderate a panel at the upcoming Asia Tech x (ATx) event in Silicon Valley.
