The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is investigating new incidents where Waymo self-driving vehicles allegedly passed stopped school buses with activated lights. These violations occurred in Texas in January, contravening state law.
This follows a December recall of Waymo's fleet after Texas officials reported at least 19 instances of illegal school bus passes since the school year began. The NTSB is examining a Jan. 12 incident in Austin involving a bus loading passengers and a Jan. 14 incident with a special-needs route bus.
