German AI startup Synera has announced a $40 million funding round to expand its engineering automation platform globally. Founded in 2018, Synera deploys AI agents to autonomously execute complex product development workflows across the entire engineering lifecycle. The platform connects design, simulation, and optimization processes into a unified system.

The company addresses the challenge of integrating AI into manufacturing, where many prototypes fail to reach production. Synera's solution tackles the disconnect between AI investment and real-world application by automating fragmented legacy tools and manual processes. Described as "JARVIS for engineers," the platform integrates with over 80 design and engineering tools, ensuring proprietary data remains on-premises.

Synera serves more than 60 enterprise clients in 15 countries, including NASA, Airbus, and BMW. The Series B funding was led by Revaia, with participation from Capgemini, UVC Partners, BMW iVentures, Cherry Ventures, and Spark Capital Partners.

This investment will enable Synera to redefine hardware engineering delivery, allowing companies to innovate faster and reduce costs by enabling AI agents to act as digital engineers across the value chain.
