Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) platforms are evolving beyond legacy models to meet the demands of AI-driven enterprise workloads. Cato Networks Ltd. has introduced what it calls the first AI-native SASE platform, combining two new offerings: Cato Neural Edge and Cato AI Security.

According to Nimmy Reichenberg, senior vice president of product marketing at Cato Networks, the platform embeds Nvidia GPUs across more than 85 global points of presence. This enables inline AI inspection without offloading traffic to third-party clouds.

The AI security capabilities stem from Cato’s acquisition of Aim Security Ltd. last year and were fully integrated in under six months. The system uses Cato’s single-pass cloud engine-now extended to AI-to inspect all traffic once, improving speed and manageability.

Reichenberg emphasized the urgency driven by agentic AI, which introduces new attack surfaces like Model Context Protocol servers and autonomous browsers-technologies that didn’t exist a year ago but now require purpose-built security controls.
